9-1-1 Emergency Service Information
CRITICAL WARNING: VoIP 9-1-1 service differs from traditional landline service. In an emergency, you must be prepared to confirm your physical location and callback number to the operator.
1. Service Differences
VoIP 9-1-1 calls are routed to a specialized call center that will then transfer your call to the appropriate emergency response center (PSAP).
2. Important Limitations
- Power Outages: Service will not function during a power failure.
- Internet Disruption: If your internet connection is down, 9-1-1 will not be accessible.
- Nomadic Usage: If you move your equipment (IP Phone/ATA) without updating your address, help will be sent to the previous address.
3. User Responsibility
It is your responsibility to keep your service address up to date in our portal and to inform all users (employees, guests) of these limitations.
In compliance with Quebec's Loi 25, your location data is used strictly for emergency call routing purposes.
